Ken W. and I got together on short notice for a couple hours of paddling on Saturday. Wish I could have stayed out longer or done a real trip, but I had things to do in the morning and had to work Saturday night.
We paddled to the top of West Monponsett Pond and back to the bottom and then crossed under the road to East Monponsett.
The water was pretty high in the ponds and it was pretty tight getting through the culvert under the roadway.
After paddling the length of the east pond, we went around the lower end of the west pond into areas that are usually choked by weeds but were still clear this early in the season.
We saw one very big swan.
And one great blue heron.
Before taking out, I tried to get a good picture of Ken so he can make an avatar he can use for the kayaking websites and Facebook.
I failed to put new batteries in my GPS that I had used for 12 hours the day befrore, so I didn't get a complete track of the trip. I think Ken said his GPS showed we had paddled about 7 miles.
Thanks for coming out on short notice Ken.
