Skills Practice - 6/29/2023 3:00pm

I will be meeting a new paddler at the Plymouth Long Pond Boat Ramp at 3:00pm tomorrow if anyone would like to join me for some skills practice.  I'll be working with Chuck who will be doing his first wet exit, assisted and self rescues.  Hopefully the water has warmed up enough so we can comfortabl...

Re: Skill session or open water paddles June 2022

I'm ready. Would have joined Anna and Jordan last Saturday but was too busy.

Looks like weather for this week may start off the season with rain like last year but if the forecast changes, I will try to attend.

It looks like the rain may be done in Plymouth tomorrow afternoon. Do we still want to try for a skills session if the rain stops? I may still be interested in attending since I would like to practice a roll or two as well as a heel hook self rescue. (I prefer practice in nice fresh water versus sal...

Another Kayak Shop Going Away - Newbury

I was just looking at the Newbury Canoe and Kayak website and noticed that they are about to drop kayaks and switch to specializing more in canoes. Here is the notice copied from their website: New Direction Dear friends, It's time for a big change! We've decided canoes are the future and it is time...

Casco Bay Sea Kayak Rescue - 8/7/2021

I heard that there was a rescue needed of a sea kayaker in Casco Bay over the weekend from Ken. I didn't know that it was captured on video till I saw that Al had put a link to the video on Facebook. I think the video of these experienced paddlers shows the importance of having rescue skills and sta...

Do you meet at the boat ramp there? I'm seeing 210 Clark Rd. if I google the address. Yes, that is the correct address. Pull onto the boat ramp area when you arrive to unload your boat and gear and then move your vehicle to the big parking lot. I usually unload my gear onto the sidewalk beside the ...
