Alternate Practice Location-Day

Greetings, For those who are interested we can set up an alternate location and date for those interested. Lake Sabbatia, Lake Rico, Whitmans Pond, Houghtons Pond or the Norton Reservoir are all candidates for alternative locations to Hanson. Plus I'm certain other people have some other ideas for p...

New Boat

Hi Roy,

You can't go wrong with a TEMPEST 170. I haven't found a better handling or more comfortable boat, bar none.

That was my two cents worth LOL

Good luck,

Practice

Melissa, Try to make the practice this Thursday or as Pat suggested an alternate day. Some of us have some flexibility and could make another practice session on another day if some folks would prefer. Having a practiced wet exit an assisted /self rescue is really the only smart way to venture out. ...

Hi Steve, I think the video is a great idea, its amazing how much it allows you to see what's working, and what's not. Plus when you nail the roll, it becomes a great keepsake. I think there maybe only 1 or 2 more nights before the skills sessions in the evenings comes to an end for the season. Have...

One more great interactive Skeg Lesson

http://www.atlantickayaktours.com/pages ... g-1A.shtml

This was the best interactive site I've seen to help explain how a skeg can be adapted to the conditions.

It's not all up or all down. The demonstration does a great job showing why.

Hi Pat, Thanks for a great evening of fun last night! I like the trip plans for 8/5/06. Squantum may be an easier alternative to launch for the trip if the construction is an issue, it would also avoid the gut if there are those who really shouldn't be in unpredictable fast / choppy water condtions....
