Welcome JodyJeanne! I'll have to watch out for a Loon on the local rivers and ponds to say hi if you don't make it out to a gathering. I like paddling the local rivers and ponds in a Perception Sparky 9' recreational kayak. I want to hit as many local spots as soon as possible this spring before the...

I've got the solution for your envious views of the water as you drive into Boston - go in before sunrise! Pat - I think your picture is better than any of the shots I took! Very nice. Nelson - not many details to talk about - it was just an easy, tame paddle around a pond - we did about 4 miles - saw one great blue heron and one swan. Great to get out on an evening in April though. Monponsett Inn had go...

The gate to the state ramp is open. I did not see any signs giving any warning of the distance to the turn so I took some measurements. It is on Rte 58 3.4 miles south of the Camp Kiwanee driveway. It is a right turn .26 miles south of the Monponsett Inn parking lot entrance. It is a left turn .75 m...

Gearing up - Compass?

I don't see doing any long trips out of site of land, and I do already carry a GPS most of the time, but I was wondering if I should bother getting a deck compass?
