Lovells Camping and Graves Light Paddle - 7/24/2013

Post by norm »

Briggsy invited us to join him for a one night camping trip on Lovells Island again this year on a Wednesday. He brought his tandem so that his friend Brian, who canoes but doesn't usually kayak, could come along this time. Brian and a few other guys do canoe trips with Briggsy every year. On this trip Briggsy and Brian were experimenting with minimalist camping, using home-made dehydrated foods, small stoves and small tents.

Bea came out for the paddling on Wednesday, but didn't stay overnight this year.

We had a magnificent weather day on Wednesday. After launching from Hull and leaving our camping gear on Lovells, we paddled out to the Graves on very smooth water. It was a wonderful day for pictures - glad I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with my waterproof camera.

Nice site work Dave!

Norm you got a great picture of the Graves, even without the waves. The sky and coloring was a great shot.
Paddle with a big smile, its contagious 8)

You got some great shots from the Graves, Norm. I have never seen it so flat out there, where you actually could see the reflection of the light house on the water surface.

Thank you for escorting me back to the put-in at Windmill Point! I was THIS close to capsizing in the gut as the current was running at max and boats kicking up a good wake.
