Washburn Island June 2-4, 2016 [FULL]

Greetings All,

I'll keep this short and sweet.

We'll have the group site at Washburn this year from Thursday June 2nd through Sunday the 4th with an AM departure.

$10 / per person, non refundable.

Hopefully we'll have a good size group. We can think about a variety of different routes for the weekend that will give us options depending on wind an weather.

As always, we'll hope for the weather to cooperate, and not relocate our tents over the trees :shock:

Hope we can pull together a fun time for all.

Hi Gang,

We're now at 15 people for the trip.

We're closing this off at this point to keep the site manageable for the Tent City we'll have.

Everyone signed up is reserved.

Since we have 15 people, $8 PP will be the non-refundable ante for the weekend.

Feel free to catch up with me for reimbursement when you see me, it hardly seems worth setting up a Paypal sign up.

Keep your fingers crossed for good weather for the the weekend. The island will be hopping at this time of year.

For all the day trippers that plan to come out to paddle for the day, please try and plan to enjoy the camaraderie of the flock for Washburn PPR

Well, the long-range forecast for that weekend looks iffy. I can just feel it.

But I'm going to try making a day of it on Friday. I might even bring out some fresh donuts for breakfast. (Then again, one never knows with my schedule.) Waquoit should be warm as toast by then.

Who is heading down to Washburn on Thursday and at what time? It would be nice to have some company so I don't have to paddle solo. I'll be returning home at some point Saturday. Hope to get a good paddle in Friday...

Thanks, Joy. I can't get there that early. I will be leaving the put-in sometime in the afternoon...3 or 4 pm maybe. I am ok paddling out by myself if no one else is launching at that time. See you at Washburn.

Bringing firewood from outside of the island is prohibited. The only option is to scrounge around the campground.

The forecast I saw for Falmouth said 20% chance of showers. I am planning on going down Thursday morning and returning on Saturday. I might end up with the 1 o'clock group if things do not go well.

Another option is buying firewood in bundles from Island Managers camp site. They sold for $5 a bundle last year.
