Recently (Apr '24) the server was under a DOS attack (Denial Of Service), and the culprit turned out to be outdated message board software (phpBB3).

it's quite possible that time could be spent upgrading the software and that might disable the attacks, but I really feel that this forum isn't used enough to justify the work involved. TBH, I've considered taking down the entire website, but I think there is still valuable information in some areas (paddling spots, etc.) to warrant keeping it up.

So sorry about that, but there wasn't much more I could do.
